Statement of Faith

Families must be in agreement with the following Statement of Faith that guides the ministry of Katy Classical Academy:

  • The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

  • God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh being fully God and fully man except without sin. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:18-20)

  • Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and therefore is lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ are saved. (Romans 3:23; 1 John 3:5)

  • Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner. This gift must be responded to in individual faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • We hold as belief and conviction that children are gifts given by God as a stewardship to the parent and not the state, and that parents have the wherewithal and authority to teach and educate their own children. (Isaiah 54:13; Psalm 127:3)

Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the school as a work and extension of the Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the school community, it is imperative that all persons enrolled at KCA, employed by the school in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, should support and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly.

  • We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological gender is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

  • We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 1:18; 1 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Timothy 3:2)

  • We believe that God intends sexual intimacy only to occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (Matthew 5:27; Mark 7:21; 1 Corinthians 7:3)

  • We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. (1 Corinthians 6:15-18; Ephesians 5:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5)

  • We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including but not limited to adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexual conduct, pornography, and attempting to change one’s biological sex or otherwise acting upon any disagreement with one’s biological sex) is sinful and offensive to God. (Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 5:1-2; 1 Timothy 1:8-11)

  • We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with scripture.

Holy Bible

The Head and supreme authority of KCA is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself (Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18).  His will, which will be discerned through the prayerful and appropriate application of His written Word (2 Timothy 2:15), must be followed in all matters pertaining to this school. KCA, therefore, affirms that the Word of God, that is, the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible, is the fundamental, sole, and final governing authority of KCA.
